Our Garden

                                                                Finding dirt for the garden.
Learning what seeds look like.

We planted a small garden this year.  My Dad built us a raised bed and we planted radishes, carrots and peas.  We kinda planted the peas wrong so they didn't really survive.  However, the radishes and carrots turned out ok.  However, we pretty much suck at gardening.  Our garden could have been a lot better but it kinda failed for a few reasons 1) we don't any shade in our backyard and 2) after about a week the novelty wore off and we forgot to water it a lot.  Maybe next year we'll have better luck.

Redneck Hot Tub

My Dad found this old bathtub abandoned in a field somewhere and after watching it for several months and no one taking it, decided he would take it.  Last summer my Dad would, on an almost daily basis, fill the tub with water and take a relaxing swim (with his swim trunks on) at night.  The grandkids decided to take a bath one day too.  The funny part is the first day my Dad decided to take a swim my Mom came home and couldn't tell whether my Dad had shorts on or not.  She thought holy heck the neighbors probably think you're skinny dipping!

Pompa's Garden 2009

I just downloaded my memory card and found these pictures I took last summer.  Last summer Benson spent everyday "working" in the garden with my Dad, Pompa.  My Dad and Mom played babysitter while Michael lived in Rexburg going to school and I was at work.

My Dad loves to garden and last year had 2 huge gardens.  Benson enjoyed playing in the dirt and tasting what came out of the garden.  He looked so tiny in between the tall leaves sometimes you could barely see his head.  His hat usually gave him away.

GRADUATION... FINALLY!!!!

BEST COLE FAMILY MEMORY! Michael graduated with a B.S. in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism and a Minor in History from BYU Idaho in July.  Finally!  He was basically a seven year part-time student.  He changed his major a million times and put off his education to let me get my law degree and take care of Benson as a newborn.  He pushed through hating school, changing schools, living in Rexburg by himself and then commuting from Twin Falls to Rexburg.  I am SO, SO, SO PROUD of him, as is my family and his.

The Benson Hotel

I had been wanting to take Benson to Portland and go to the BENSON HOTEL since he was born.  My mom, Benson and I went to Portland and the first stop was the Benson Hotel.  The pics didn't turn out great but it was fun non the less.  Benson kept talking about "my hotel" for weeks.  Every hotel we passed or have stayed out since then is "my hotel."  The hotel is famous for their bell boys, in as my mom calls them "monkey hats."  Benson wasn't too thrilled to be taking a picture with the monkey man.

Easter

Family Pics

These pictures a few months old.  We took them on Easter.  Benson thought he was so cool in his tie and shirt.  My mom found the shirt and tie on clearance for less than two bucks!

CUTE PICTURES

I took these pictures after Church a few weeks ago because Benson was being such a ham.  Isn't he adorable? We think so!
