The Garden

My Dad loves to garden and does a great job doing it. He has two garden's, one at his house and a bigger one down the road. We took Benson to the garden for the first time this week, the first of what I'm sure will be many trips there this summer.

My First Day As A Limited Licensed Deputy Prosecuting Attorney For Twin Falls County

It's official... I can legally practice law in the state of Idaho (under the supervision of another attorney). My first day of work as a deputy prosecuting attorney was Monday and Michael took these pictures. Do I look like an attorney? I now have my limited license and was sworn in as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the county of Twin Falls.

On Tuesday I get to do Misdemeanor Pre-Trial Conferences and on Friday I get to do Juvenile Pre-Trials Conferences, Evidentiary hearings and Sentencings. I get to take over doing Misdemeanor Court Trials soon and might also get to do a Misdemeanor Jury Trial this summer!

I'm A Little Bama Baby

I wanted to get Benson an Alabama shirt while we were in Alabama and I found this cute one at the mall. It says "I'm A Little Bama Baby."

Mother's Day

Ok, I know Mother's Day was a while ago and I'm little late posting pictures but we took these pictures on my first "official" Mother's Day.

National Train Day

May 10th was the first National Train Day. We took Benson to Pullman to see the train they have there. We also about him a really cute Thomas the Train toy and book. Hopefully he likes trains because he bedroom is decorated in train decor.

What We've Been Up To

So I haven't posted anything for a while because Michael and I have been keeping pretty busy. We made the trip down to Twin Falls for the summer and are now settled in somewhat. Michael and Logan drove out cars down while Benson and I flew down. Benson does great flying, he's already been on 4 flights in his 4 months of life. Michael is job hunting and doing a great job babysitting Benson while I'm at work. I started work at the Prosecutor's Office on Monday and am having a lot of fun. My limited license came in the mail and I was sworn in as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Twin Falls County yesterday. I can now legally practice law in the state of Idaho (with attorney supervision). We've been enjoying hanging out with my family and helping my Dad plant his garden. Benson is enjoying getting to play with his cousins, especially Hailee. I have a bunch of picture to post since we've been back from Alabama so look for those sometime this week.

Benson

Family Pictures

We had Michael's Mom and Dad take a few family pictures while we were in Alabama. These are the ones that turned out ok or good. We're planning on getting family pictures taken in the next few weeks so look in the mail for a birth announcement for Benson and a family picture from us.

Cinco De Mayo Lunch

We were in Alabama on Cinco De Mayo and of course we had to celebrate by eating Mexican Food. We went to a really good Mexican place called Rosie's.

Benson In His Pirate Outfit & Crocs

Michael's Mom bought Benson this cute pirate outfit. It has been too cold for him to wear it at home so he wore it for the first time while we were in Alabama. It went perfect with is new croc sandles.

Benson In His Floppy Hat

My mom bought Benson this cute floppy hat a few weeks ago and he wore it for the first time while we were in Alabama. He looked so cute wearing it! This at those big blue eyes and double chin!

Benson's 4 Month Check Up

Benson had his 4 month check up todayand his blood drawn to check his thyroid levels. He did so good getting shots and his blood drawn. He didn't even make a peep when they drew his blood, even after the nurse had to keep poking his arm while the needled was already in his arm to find his vein again. He was laughing and smiling. He did good getting his shots as well. He did cry a little but was fine as soon as we picked him up.

He weighs 13 pounds 8 ounces, he gained 8 ounces since last Friday. He is in the 25th percentile. He is 23 3/4 inches long and in the 10th cercentile. He has quite the chubby thighs, which both Dr. K and Dr. Shupe noticed. We should get his thyroid levels back on Monday and hopefully his levels will be right where Dr. K wants them to be.

Benson On The Plane

Back From Alabama

We got back from Alabama yesterday after a long day of flying and a 2 hour drive home from Spokane. Benson did great on our flights and the drive home. We had a great time in Alabama hanging out with Michael's parents and relaxing. Benson celebrated his first Cinco De Mayo with having lunch at Rosie's Mexican Restaurant. He had his first carousel ride and rolled over from his back to his side completely. He had fun wearing shorts and playing on his play mat. Michael and his Dad attended an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Michael's mom and I had fun shopping while Michael and his Dad were at the game. Thanks for the clothes Nana! We had a great time and were sad to leave so soon. Hopefully we'll be able to visit again soon. I have pictures to post so check back today or tomorrow.

Recent Happenings

I finished school for the semester this week. Yeah! I only had two finals this week which was really nice. Although school is over for this semester summer school starts soon. I'm taking a week long mediation class in two weeks and then doing an eight week externship at the prosecutor's office in Twin Falls. I am looking forward to December and graduating!

Benson had a doctor's appointment in Spokane Friday afternoon. So after my final was over we drove to Spokane to see Dr. Kishiayma. Benson is doing really good weight wise, he now weighs 13 pounds. He gained 12 ounces in two and half weeks! His thyroid levels are still just a touch high but that's ok. They've come down the last month and half to just above normal so by the time we have his blood drawn again they should be exactly where Dr. K wants them to be. Dr. K was a little concerned that Benson wasn't growing height wise as he should. The thyroid does place a big part in your growth and can stunt it so we just have to keep an eye on how he's growing the next few months. Dr. K said it's hard to judge whether a baby is growing as he should or not in the first six months and I don't think he helps that Michael and I are so short and Benson is destined to be small. He wasn't overly concerned but we do have to keep an eye on it. Other than that Benson is doing great.

We are in Alabama until next week visiting Michael's parents. We flew out of Spokane yesterday and fly back next Thursday. Benson did great on our flights. We flew from Spokane to Denver and then Denver to Huntsville. Benson slept almost the entire time on both flights and only got fussy about the last 20 minutes before we landed in Huntsville. The weather has been really nice here, not too hot but not cold either. It's nice to be in a warmer climate, it's still in the 50's in Moscow. I'm sure I'll have a ton of pictures to post from our trip so check our blog next weekend.
