Benson and I are flying to Moscow for the weekend. Michael drove home about 3 weeks ago expecting Benson and I to be home the following weekend. That didn't happen though! My boss offered me a paid job for the rest of the summer so Benson and I are still in Twin Falls. After this weekend I have two more weeks of work and then back to Moscow to start school. We are excited to go home and see Michael and I know Michael is excited to see us!
Benson has a doctor's appointment tomorrow for his 6 month check-up (although he's almost 7 months old) with Dr. Shupe. Sadly Dr. Shupe is retiring at the end of August so this will be out last appointment with him. We have loved having him as a doctor both for myself and Benson. I'm excited to see how much Benson weighs and how long his has gotten. He is a chunk but still pretty short! He is getting so big! He has also started falling asleep on his own. The last few days instead of off holding him until he falls asleep I have been laying him down and giving him his silkly blanket to hold and he has fallen asleep by himself.

News From Work
I've been having a great time this summer working at the Prosecuting Attorney's office in Twin Falls. I've got to do a ton of cool stuff with my limited law license.
A normal week for me consists of:
Monday: Court Trials, First Appearances, Prepare for Tuesday Pre-Trial Conferences
Tuesday: First Appearances, Pre-Trial Conferences
Wednesday: Catch Up day, First Appearances
Thursday: Probation Violation Hearings, First Appearances
Friday: Catch Up day, Prepare for the following week
Last week I made my first appearance in District Court. I normally handle misdemeanor cases which is Magistrate Court. District Court is felony crimes. I did an argument after a jury trial. I introduced a certified document that contained the defendant's prior felony convictions and then asked the jury to find that he had actually been convicted of those felonies. I gave my argument and then the jury deliberated. It was really a no brainy that the defendant had actually been convicted but under the law the state has to present evidence and actually prove the defendant had been convicted. The jury found that the defendant had been convicted of 3 prior felonies, as I asked them to. This allowed for an enhancement of the defendant's sentence by 5 years-life. \
This week I also get to make an appearance in District Court. I am second chair for a Felony Lewd and Lascivious Act jury trial. I also have a misdemeanor jury trial on Wednesday in which the defendant is representing himself. Both should be a lot of fun.

We met at BYU Idaho. Michael and his roommates came to my apartment to introduce themselves/find dates (Michael lived in the apartments right behind me and we were in the same ward).

20. What are his best features?
He lets me be in charge and be bossy. He goes along with my wild adventures (for the most part) without complaining. He always tells me I'm so smart and that I can do anything I want to do.
21. What are his greatest qualities?
I love Michael's laid back personality. He doesn't usually let little stuff bother him and doesn't get too worked up over things. I freak out about everything at first and he calms me down. I love his gentle love his shows to Benson. He loves Benson to death and is so good with him. He lets me be in charge/bossy and follow my dreams while he sits quietly in the background.

Benson's First Parade
We went to a small parade in Kimberly and Benson enjoyed himself. He was asleep for the first few minutes until the kids next to us started screaming every time they someone threw them a piece of candy.
Benson's Mini Train Ride
After the Parade we went to a carnival at the park and Benson and I rode a mini train.
Benson Swimming
We took Benson to Nat-Su-Pa, it's a hot springs pool and he loved it. I think he loved that the water was warm. My mom bought him this crab thing that lets him hang in the water and also be covered and out of the sun. He really liked it.
