Benson had his 10 day check up today. Wow 10 days! I can't believe he is already that old. He is doing really good. He now weighs 6 pounds 4 ounces, which is great because they like babies to be back up to their birth weight by 10 days and Benson weighs 3 ounces more than his birth weight. He has grown another 1/4 of an inch and 1 inch total since his birth to a whopping 18.5 inches now! Michael keeps saying he is destined to be a jockey. His circumcision healed really well and everything else on his body is doing great. He does have a blocked tear duct in his left eye which isn't uncommon in newborns, especially those born early like Benson was. His eye doesn't drain down into his nose cavities like it should and becomes pussy. It's a little sad because his eye gets so full of gook and closes shut sometimes. The doctor said it isn't a problem and we just have to keep it cleaned out and massage his tear ducts and it should go away. I think Benson is getting tired of us wiping his eye out and massaging his face so hopefully it will clear up soon. Other than that he is doing great and is a healthy little boy.

Michael & Benson
Michael is doing a great job as a new Dad! He does a great job burping Benson after I feed him and rocking him to sleep. He is always saying I get to hold Benson more than he does and jumps at the chance to hold him. I think Benson is going to be a daddy's boy.
Benson Sleeping In His Swing
Benson really likes sleeping in his swing. He looks so cute and peaceful when he is sleeping.
He looks so tiny when he is swaddled in his blanket and swinging in his chair.

Benson Waking Up

Benson's Eyes
I'm pretty sure Benson is going to have big blue eyes because Michael and I both have blue eyes. He does like to sleep a lot as all newborns do but I was able to snap a few pictures when he was awake and looking around, probably at Georgia and wondering what that little loud thing is!
Benson's Smile
Benson loves to sit in his bouncy chair. I took a few pictures while he was sleeping because he just looked so cute. I think he was having a good dream because he started to smile.

Benson's Bunting Outfit
My mom bought Benson this bunting outfit and matching hat & gloves. It is the cutest thing ever and he looked so cute in it! It is huge on him but I'm sure it kept him warm. We couldn't help but take a bunch of pictures because he looked so adorable in the outfit.
Benson's First Doctor's Appointment
Benson had his first doctor's appointment on Tuesday. He looked so cute dressed up to go out. My mom bought him these really cute brown boots which went perfect with his outfit.The outfit itself is a little big because it's a newborn size and Benson fits into preemie size but it was still cute and looked really comfortable.
Georgia & Benson
It's been an adjustment for Georgia having to share our attention with Benson. She still isn't quite sure about him and the funny noises he makes. I think she is pretty jealous but hopefully she will get over it. It's funny because when I'm holding Benson or sitting by him she won't have anything to do with me but as soon as I put him down she follows me around or lays right next to me. I'm sure in time they will become best friends!

Benson was born on Friday, January 11th. He weighed 6 pounds 1 ounce and 17.5 inches long.

Christmas Pictures
These are a few pictures from Christmas. We had a great time spending time with Michael's parents. Georgia loved having visitors and we enjoyed spending time with them and that they flew all the way to Idaho, braving the snow from Alabama.
