Benson had a check up today and is doing great! He has grown 1 inch and now is 20 inches long. I know that is still short but hey he was only 17.5 inches when he was born so he's grown 2.5 inches in 5 weeks.
He weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces about a 1.5 pound weight gain in 2 and half weeks! Our doctor said they like babies to gain about 1 ounce a day and Benson was averaging about 1.5 ounces. so he's gaining weight really good.
Benson also had his thyroid levels checked last week and they are both really good. His TSH level is within normal which is great because it was a 333 and should have been around a 4. His T3/T4 that was really low, .47 and should have been around 2 is a 2.47. It is a little high but that is ok, the doctor wanted it to be high. The doctor thinks within the next month his T3/T4 level will drop to around a 2, the high of normal and stablize.
