We took Benson to Nat-Su-Pa, it's a hot springs pool and he loved it. I think he loved that the water was warm. My mom bought him this crab thing that lets him hang in the water and also be covered and out of the sun. He really liked it.
I know I haven't posted any pictures for quite a while but I am going to. I have a ton of pictures to post I just haven't had the time lately. Michael, Benson and I have been keeping quite busy. Benson is getting bigger and bigger everyday and cuter as well!
Here's what we've been up to: 1. Took Benson swimming for the first time (the first two times didn't really count because he only lasted about 30 seconds in the water) and loved it! 2. Benson started eating solid foods. He loves sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, and carrots. He also loves rice cereal and applesause. 3. Benson had watermelon for the first time thanks to Grandma. He loved it! (I have some really cute pictures to post about this) 4. Benson's hair is growing and is now long enough to comb, part and spike a little in the front. 5. Benson turned 6 months old and had a half-birthday party. I can't believe Benson is 6 months old, time goes by too fast! 6. Benson had his first 4th of July and loved watching fireworks. I thought Benson might be scared of the noise of fireworks but he loved watching them. I think he loved the colors and wasn't afraid of the noise. 7. Benson has started taking formula occasionally and really likes it. When we first tried to give Benson formula he hated it and would have absolutely nothing to do with it. He would scream, kick and drink none of it. However, after a few days of trying to give it to him he decided it wasn't too bad. He nows does take formula occasionally and actually likes it. 8. Michael went back to Moscow to start working expecting Benson and I to be home the following week. However, the day after Michael left my boss offered me a paid job for the rest of the summer! It's a great opportunity and the money is really good but Benson and I do miss Michael.
That's what we've been up to lately. I promise to post pictures in the next few days.

Benson is about to get his first tooth. He has two little white numbs on his bottom mouth and if you run your finger along them you can feel the teeth under his skin. One is about to break through the skin!
1. Rolled over for the first time from his back to his stomach. He use to love playing on his stomach before he realized he could roll over onto his stomach. Now once he rolls over he hates being on his stomach. He thinks it's so fun to roll over and then gets mad when he can't roll back onto his back.
2. Loves being in his bouncy/swival chair. My mom got this great chair from a friend at her work that Benson just loves. It's a chair that Benson sits in but is kinda standing up in as well and that he can also bounce himself up and down in a little. The chair also allows him to spin around. It has a tray that you can put toys in and Benson loves spinning around and throwing his toys onto the ground. I think he loves it because it allows him to sit up and play with his toys instead of laying on back playing with toys.
3. Went swimming for the first time. I think Benson would have really liked the swimming pool if the water hadn't been too cold. We bought him a really cute pair of swimming shorts that have little Nacho Libre Luchardore masks on them. He really likes his baths now so I'm sure he'll enjoy swimming. We're going to take him again during the day when the water is warmer.
4. Has realized he has feet. Benson loves to lay on his back and grab his feet. He thinks it's so funny when he pulls his feet up towards his mouth. He can usually grab one of his feet and sometimes both of them. I think his chubby belly and chubby thighs get in the way of him always grabbing both feet at the same time and bringing them to his mouth.
5. Now wearing size 3 diapers! Benson was only 6 pounds 1 ounce when he was born and in the 5% for his weight, I think that is changing though. He weighed 13.5 pounds 7 weeks ago and I think he's now around 17 pounds. Last time we had him weighed he had moved up to the 25% for his weight and I have feeling that % will go way up at his next check up.
6. Had his blood drawn two weeks ago and didn't make a peep again! He's such a brave little kid when it comes to getting his blood drawn. The last two times he has had his blood drawn he didn't cry, he didn't even hardly make a peep. He just stares at the nurse and smiles.
7. His thyroid levels are now normal! Benson's thyroid levels had been still a little high the last few times he had his blood drawn but after this time they are now normal! They had been about a 2.1 and anything above a 2 is high. However, his level is now a 1.9 which is great!
We decided to take Benson to the swimming pool for the first time this week. I bought him a really cute pair of swimming shorts from Old Navy that have little Nacho Libra Luchadore masks all overthem. Michael was wishing they had the same pair in his size but no luck. We got to the pool kinda late, around 7 pm but the sun was still shining so I thought it would be ok. It didn't quite go as planned because Benson only lasted about 1 minute in the pool. It was way too cold for him. I think he liked the water and thought it was fun but he was shivering from the second he got in. I guess we'll have to go during the day when the water is warmer but then I worry he'll get sunburned! We had a good time even though it only lasted about 1 minute.
We took a walk down the street to a park near my parent's house and Benson went down the slide for the first time. He wasn't too impressed with it but didn't freak out either. We had a good time going for a walk and talking pictures.
We gave Benson a real solid food for the first time last Sunday. He's been eating rice cereal and applesause since he was about two weeks old with his medicine but we decided to start giving him other solid food and sweet potatoes it was! He wasn't quite sure whether he liked them or not but did eat a few bites. I think he wasn't quite sure about the texture. IT was fund to see the faces he was making!
Everyone that knows Michael knows Michael hates to get his haircut. He likes his hair long and just despises having to get it cut. He finally got it cut on Father's day and it was quite a drastic change. He wanted to buzz his hair but I didn't think that was really good idea but after my mom cut it it almost looked buzzed. He looks really different because he's never had his hair cut this short before but I think it looks nice and I think Michael likes it as well.
Benson turned five months old on Wednesday and my "little" brother Logan turned 16! Logan is my little brother in age and the baby of the family but he's not so "little," he's about 6 feet tall but will always be the baby of the family. Benson also had his blood drawn on Wednesday to check his thyroid levels and we should get the results back today. Once again he didn't even cry, or hardly make a peep when they drew his blood. He is such a brave little guy! I freak out and almost cry when I have my blood drawn and I'm 24. (although quite a baby when it comes to somethings: needles and bees especially) Michael is doing a great job babysitting Benson while I do my internship. They've become such great buddies and look so much alike! Not much else is going on. I have a few pictures post which I'll probably do sometime this weekend.
